Hall and discover what life was in a Tudor
Manor. Lunch. Journey to Scrooby, birthplace of
the Pilgrim Fathers and discover how Henry
VIII's rule caused dissent. Travel to Retford
where we visit the Museum before visiting
nearby Tuxford Windmill for Tea and to learn
about traditional milling. From here we go to

being committed around the world. |

Day 2: Start the
day with a visit to Creswell Crags where the oldest
cave paintings in Europe from the Ice Age have been
discovered. Spend time viewing the Visitor Centre or

by the National Trust but once seat of one of the
Dukes. Learn about the history of the Dukeries.

the National Tea Council. Alternatives to this tour
include the Castle at Bolsover for Creswell Crags and
Thamar Ice Cream Shop instead of the Tea Rooms.
Castles &
Battlefields
Newark Castle
stands proudly above the river, where the famous four
year siege took place during the English Civil War
1642-46 and victory was achieved with surrender of the
Town. We then visit the Battlefield at East Stoke
reputed to be the final battle in the Wars of the
Roses before heading onto Lincoln Castle, a Norman
Castle which saw great battles and sieges in the 12th
Century.
A fun day out
Day 1: Start
early as the forest awakes going around the exhilarating
Go-Ape course. We then travel to Clumber where after coffee or
an early lunch in the National Trust Restaurant its
time to cycle around the lake or venture further into
the forest for a 'picnic' (provided by us if you
wish). If you're not worn out by now then a short
journey to either Bawtry for some paintball, nearby
for buggy riding or clay pigeon shooting, or a walk
around the 'music' trail at Sherwood Pines. However
you may choose just to visit Thamar Ice Cream where
its made fit for Harrods, or the Watermill tea Shop.

Day 2: For the
youngsters and young at heart. We start with a short visit to the
'Great Oak' to find out about Robin Hood, lunch at the
